After several days of rain we finally had beautiful day to take our dogs swimming at a Carrollton Greenbelt. As they where splashing around I looked down and found this fossil in creek bed. Does anyone have idea what it's from? Very heavy like petrified. Obviously its mouth (upper or lower) of something. I looked for more "parts" laying around but found nothing - of course was sinking in soft rock/dirt of creek bed hence did not spend a lot of time digging around.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated but please speak in layman's terms - although finding interesting "rocks" is enjoyable thats as far as I can describe them so finding this is way out of my league.
Thanks so much,
D
