Hey everyone! My brother and I are doing a bit of driving today and we're looking for places to stop and stretch out out legs and hunt fossils. Were driving through Moab, Utah, on to Durango, Colorado, through Pagosa Springs, down towards Taos, and towards Red River. Anyone have any suggestions?
The K-Boys have an upcoming appointment with Mickey. The oldest wants to hunt along the way from TX. The trilobites in the Marble Mountains sound fun, but I don't think we'll have time to get that way. Plus, I read on here somewhere that that area is now off limits. Are there any places along I-10 from Phoenix to Riverside that we can hit along the way? Any road-site stops (we tend to pull over quite a bit already)? We spend most of our lives in the lower cretaceous and are ready to see something different. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hay I am trying to re-plan a second day of a hunting trip because our first choice became state property about a year ago I was wondering if any one had any experience at any of these road cuts. I am just wondering how the collecting was at the sites? Quality and frequency typical of fossils found at each locality? If any one knows the layers to look in too for any specific fossil would be awesome Thanks for the help! -CQ http://www.fallsoftheohio.org/collecting.html Looking at #'s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10
