Currently I have been trying to come up with different tips and ideas for newbies and make a video out of it to teach others about fossil collection. I would like to ask for any advice for fossil maintenance, protection, and mainly good starter choices. I would also want to request for members to post pictures of their common fossils of all sorts, so I can make a more lively video with them. Currently I plan to suggest Knightia, triceratops/edmontosaurus splitter and KK vert fossils, but I would want some advice for invertebrates because I have not yet explored those animals in my collection. I would be thankful for any help I get.

Hello everyone, My name is Joeri and I'm 29. My two main passions are Egyptology and Paleontology. Probably like any fossil lover I've read a lot about dinosaurs and stuff. It's only since two years that I became a member of the Belgian Association for Paleontology. They organize annual excursions to collect fossils in different locations. So you can say I'm an absolute starter to the wonderful world of fossil collecting. I know the difference between an ammonite and a trilobite but that's about it. I hope to expand my knoledge and to gain tips and tricks for fossil hunting on this forum. I'm not out for the most special and most perfect fossil, finding traces from past life is already a great experience and also I don't have the means/tools yet to perform preparations on the fossils I've found (which, so far, isn't impressive but every piece of shell or crinoid is special but me ). Since I'm from Ostend which is a seaside town on the North Sea, I've already have a small collection of shark teeth Next to going to Egypt again, the number 1 and 2 on my bucketlist are finding a trilobite and an ammonite This year I'll visit some locations where they known the have been found so I hope luck will be on my side this time. To support me in this hobby my wife gave me a pair of gloves, a shizzle and a hammer for christmas this year. I'm still at the beginning of this hobby of study, meeting different people and spending time outdoors. So this is my introduction and I hope to learn a lot on this forum and hope to grow in the art of finding and collecting fossils Cheers, Joeri R. Ostend Belgium
