RCFossils
I am hoping someone on the forum might be familiar with Ordovician aged fossils from Fezouata. I believe this might be a large hyolithid but am not sure.
Tidgy's Dad
I would say so. What's the scale? And did you get that as a bonus with a brachiopod? (if that's a brachiopod at the top of the rock, I can't quite see....) 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
RCFossils
I just purchased a group of Fezouata fossils and this was included. i do not have it yet but judging from the hand in the picture, I would estimate4-6 centimeters. i was interpreting the round structure to be the oberculum of the animal.
Tidgy's Dad
I think you're right. Peeking at it more closely I'm fairly certain that's a hyolithid operculum. Marvelous! Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Shamalama
Nice to get both the Operculum and the main shell together. All you need are the spines and it would be complete! -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers.
