Kurufossils
Hello, I received this trilobite a long ago that I thought was a Parahomalonotus trilobite when I initially got it, recently someone let me know this maybe actually a Dipleura Dekayi, I definitely have my suspicions this would be the case because the surrounding shale matrix is very unusual for Morocco. What do you guys think?
Kane
My bet would be Dipleura dekayi as they -- with the exception of juveniles -- have an effaced pygidium, whereas Parahomalonotus (now reassigned to Wenndorfia) does have some lightly incised pygidial ribbing. 3 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer

Thank you very much, your absolutely right the more I look into it, the deeper it goes into the Dipleura dekayi camp.
Jeffrey P
Definitely looks like Dipleura dekayi to me. I wonder where it was from. All the ones I've seen are from New York and Pennsylvania.
Kurufossils
@Jeffrey P Yeah I'm certainly wondering as well possibly Sangerfield, NY. I found a similar one in the collection of another forum member as well.
