Scylla
Initially described as a fossil spider, this fossil ends up being a crayfish from China https://m.phys.org/news/2019-12-jackalope-ancient-spider-fossil-deemed.html

Shamalama
Derp! -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers. When a roadcut presents itself, they tend to lurch and weave. To them, the roadcut is a portal, a fragment of a regional story, a proscenium arch that leads their imaginations into the earth and through the surrounding terrain. - John McPheeIf I'm going to drive safely, I can't do geology. - John McPheeCheck out my Blog for more fossils I've found: http://viewsofthemahantango.blogspot.com/
RandyB
I read a different article on this specimen and the amount of work they had to put in to figure out what they were really dealing with. I felt bad for the organization that made the initial purchase, but its crazy to think that "experts" get fooled too. This is one of the biggest reasons my collection mostly has pieces I collected myself.
