Haha! I was visiting the Piesberg quarry together with a colleague and when I found the fossil, our conversation (freely translated from the original Dutch) basically went as follows...

Me: I found a spider!!

She: Is it alive?

Me: No, a fossil spider

She: Then I'll have a look...

Searching for green in the dark grey.

When i was in North Africa in the village where lived my husband he wanted to put in my hand a scorpio.

Me : It must be very little, it musn't move, and if it moves i throw it on the floor.

So he looked for a baby one, he made circled around it with a twig until it stopped moving (it staid motionless as if it was dead) and put it in my hand. I hold my arm very straight and ready to throw it off, but it had the good idea to stay motionless.

Then, he wanted to pull out of its burrow an african Tarentula : our friend was exciting it and when it popped out he took it under the head.

Here is one that look very much the one i saw, except the one i saw was less orange and had blue colors on it

He : Isn't it beautiful ?

Me : Yes it is. It has beautiful colors.

He : Give me your hand please.

Me : No.

He : But you said it's beautiful !

Me : It has too much eyes on its head !
