msantix
Hi, Is it possible to id this bone from the Kem Kem Beds in Morocco?. It is 15.8cm in length and I am thinking it is a possible theropod femur bone. Thanks.
Haravex
I'm leaning towards pterosaur what is the thickness of the bone wall?
fossil_sea_urchin
I also believe the site lists it as pterosaur.
msantix
It looks too robust to be Pterosaur despite the thin bone wall. I asked a Pterosaur expert about it and he doesn't believe it is Pterosaur at all - he said that Pterosaur femurs have a distinct head angle and proximal trochanter which are missing on the bone in question. So i am thinking it is from some Theropod instead.
Troodon
my 2 cents...I think the wall thickness of this bone looks to thin to be a theropod and too straight. looks more like a bone that takes flight not walk on.
