ga.rockhound
Any help with identification would be appreciated! Found this item on the beach of Amelia Island. Has a nice symmetry about it. I thought it could be a fossil scute of some sort. Measures about 1.5 inches across. any ideas? Thanks.

I think the reason for this appearance is that the fragment is from the dorsal side of a spot where a vertebra had been attached.
