This specimen here is a cast that is put in a scientifically accurate position as the real skeletons are way to fragile to remount.

Even with your wonderful photos it is really hard to convey the feeling of that moment you walk among the Iguanodon display .  Truly a world class collection. I am also glad they have kept them in the bipedal mount because it is part of the museum history .

23 hours ago, Tidgy's Dad said:

Wonderful!

Love all this Ediacaran and Cambrian stuff.

Yes they have a amazing collection of paleozoïc fauna & flora, one of the reasons I like the Gallery of Evolution the most in the museum :)

I'll try to upload the rest of the paleozoïc collection today :)

Very nice museum.

I think you should remove or blur the pictures with other people, especially the children, though.

The public relations people of "my" museum where very keen on the aspect of personality rights when I asked them if I could show pictures from the museum online.

Cheers,

J

There were some more Brachiopod displays but they where displayed in glass panels in the floor alongside some european trilobite and some goniatites, but I couldn't get proper picture due to the reflections of the lighting and my camera wouldn't focus due to the scratches on the glass floor. Pity cause they had some nice stuff in those :)
