I was fortunate enough to follow up my Potomac River trip with a Big Brook trip yesterday. I had to see a client in the morning that is a couple of miles from Big Brook. So I decided to swing by and jump in the creek. For the first time this winter there was someone else hunting while I was there.  I was fortunate enough to run into another TFF member (brad hinkelman) in the creek. Back to back days in different states running into different TFF members. What the chances...  I guess pretty good. Anyway, enjoy the pictures. E96D6907-20E2-45E2-983E-AD350882CB28.jpeg.aeaf64159c9a848a61b406122f789daa.jpeg5DF7ADBC-5FB5-41BC-AA8F-549819F74902.jpeg.6b7beeff780797ec99b0350031aceda3.jpegFD834EDA-DEFC-4DBD-8B02-C09901388348.jpeg.5247345f889f1928a969366d55eba0cf.jpeg

Nice finds. It seems like the “drum fish” tooth is not that. The side with rings resembles a vert, but the other doesn’t look like vert. Probably concretion.

Bummer. Haha.

I would say that the drum fish tooth is a classic example ... but certainly not a vertebra... not sure about the confusion there.

The top right almost looks like a small enchodus jaw fragment.

Probably wrong in my assumption. Yours seems a bit rougher. And of course I'm assuming mine is in fact a jaw fragment from an echodus.  Maybe someone else has another opinion.
