Sharks tooth guide

Does anyone have a legit guide for sharks teeth they would like to share? I have thousands and want to organize the mint ones. I've searched online for guides, but there are way too many that are incorrect.

I'm spent on searching and would just like something 100% I live in Venice Florida if that helps.

Thank you

Brandon

Many teeth are generalized world wide, but some are location specific so it all depends.

Are all your teeth from the Florida area? That will definately make it much easier since we have so many collectors in that vicinity.

I kind of enjoy sorting them

Hi Brandon,

I've been collecting shark teeth for over thirty years and I'd like to find a guide that's 100% too.  What we have are a number of guides that cover a certain area or a certain area from a certain interval of time.  You can't fault the author for agreeing with the prevailing opinion of the time.  Names change and taxa are assigned to different groups after new discoveries are made followed by new interpretations.

In your case assuming you are just interested in what you find at Venice Beach, you want a guide for mid-late Miocene to Pleistocene teeth.   For that interval, I use these:

https://scholarlypress.si.edu/store/life-sciences-biodiversity/geology-and-vertebrate-paleontology-calvert-cliffs/

and

It's always good to have more than one reference for shark teeth.
