Pennsylvanian "unknown" sea plant

Here's another found yesterday. Simply don't know- the septa are too separate for crinoid?...maybe a "frond"?...........any thoughts welcomed!   Bone

Cordaites wood, likely from the Winterset Limestone.

Sounds reasonable.

How are you confident of the Cordaites part though ?

Cordaites wood and leaves are fairly common and widespread in the Winterset. Other plants have been found, but are rare.

WOW!!!!! FANTASTIC ALL!!.....and here I thought it was ocean in origin-makes it cooler it was land/marsh based and from what I am seeing, lasted millions of years- through the reptiles?....if you've seen some of my threads, I am revisiting my 12 year old "kids museum" and relabeling nearly all of what I "thought" I found, then select pieces I am placing in shadow box dioramas with the "find"........pretty dang cool!!.... Bone
