Is this Mosasaur Tooth real?

Recommended Posts

I got this Mosasaur tooth a little while ago about 2 years ago. It’s a little light but decent. There is a little chip on it and it’s full on white. So I was just wondering if this is even real or just a cast.

Experience is key, but most of us have been caught out at some time. Some fakes are brilliantly done, others less so if you know what to look for.

Mosasaur crowns are so common it would be a waste of someone's time to fake.

You usually only see the fakes and composites when a root comes into play.

Some sellers will add a root ( normally out of modern bone or even sculpt one from plaster ) to make a "whole" tooth hoping it will bring more money on the sales market.

But even with the fake/ composited whole teeth, the crowns are usually the real thing.
