Harry Pristis
It's not cat. The crown seems too tall to be raccoon. Best guess? Well beyond my reach--I see very few cool finds like these and I usually reach out to Harry who has already weighed in on this find. Don't ask me why but the internet is full of images of opossum dentition. Try doing an image search for "opossum jaw" (it will work better than "opossum teeth" which mainly nets images of snarling possums). If I wanted to see that I'd just walk around my backyard in the evening. Thanks for the well lit and focused images with scale (in three dimensions no less). Starting out with good photos really helps those trying to make an ID when they don't have the specimen in hand. Cheers. -Ken
LynH
Thanks to all for the rapid response and helpful advice. Especially want to thank Harry Pristis for sharing his expertise. I had not even considered opossum!
