Raptor9468 Posted April 27, 2020 Share Posted April 27, 2020 I had just bought this shark tooth online and was looking at some otodus shark tooth real or fake posts when i realized the root of this tooth is covered with sediments or maybe plaster?Can anyone help me take a look and see if its composited? Darktooth Posted April 27, 2020 Share Posted April 27, 2020 I do see what you are talking about. While it is hard to know for sure without having the specimen in hand, I think it looks ok. There could be damage under the patch of matrix in the middle of the root. Unless you are spending alot of money on this, ( which I hope you are not) it looks like a nice matrix piece to display. Praefectus Posted April 27, 2020 Share Posted April 27, 2020 Nice tooth. The tooth looks like it is whole and in the original matrix. I don't see any plaster.
