Meg or otodus

Notidanodon

Recommended Posts

All I was told is this tooth was from England, it looks like an otodus to me , which is most likely as they are a lot more common than English megs and it matches the colours of London clay  also I can’t see any serrations

Otodus megalodon does not have cusps, but I don't know what species occur in the area.

Do you know if it’s from the Isle Of Sheppey?

no but thats what i assumed as its the most famous mackerel shark locality could easily be from somewhere else in that area though, i will ask the seller again, but he identified  it as meg so i dont think he would know, i bought it as i though it was otodus and it was big for an otodus obliquus

I reckon it is a very big Otodus Obiquus as mentioned by others. If he tells you where exactly it is from I’m sure you’d be able to get an answer though.
