a nice rock with brachiopods in it

Hi everyone today in the creek I found this rock with a lot of brachiopods in it I think they are all called Platystrophia

Hi Matt, you sure have been getting out often, lately. Looks like you got atleast 2 different species of Brachiopod. Maybe more.

Matt, although Platystrophia looks very much like what you found that genus is from the Ordovician and lower Silurian. I believe what you have is Mucrospirifer from the Devonian Period.  Similar but found in different time periods. Nice specimens.

Yes, a spiriferid and a species of productid too, I think.
