pleydellia
Hi, I found this cephalon in 2010 at the Buchava site in Czech and would like to know more about it (Ptychoparioides ...?). I hope you can help me to identify. thanks in advance, Mark van Smaalen Wageningen, the Netherlands
piranha
Ptychoparioides should have a narrower anterior border, a conical instead of a trapezoidal glabella and obscure genal caeca. This specimen with a wide anterior border and well defined genal caeca matches better with the diagnosis of: Ptychoparia sp. (Ptychoparia dubinka is shown for comparison of similar features) Kordule, V. 2006 Ptychopariid Trilobites in the Middle Cambrian of Central Bohemia (Taxonomy, Biostratigraphy, Synecology).
