Pgerb
Can someone please help me identify this shark’s tooth? It’s 1.25” long. Found in Ocean Isle, NC. Thanks! Edited July 9, 2020 by Pgerb
mikeymig
Looks like a fossil Barracuda tooth. Many times I've wondered how much there is to know. led zeppelin

Coco
Hi, Do barracuda teeth have roots? In the last photo I have the impression of seeing slight teeth to the right. To me it’s more shark, but so worn out... Fossildude19
I agree, this looks like a very broken/worn shark tooth. Mark Kmiecik
6 hours ago, Pgerb said: Any idea what kind? Nope. The diagnostic features are all missing. It's worn out probably from tumbling in the surf for a long time. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them! PrehistoricWonders
I agree it’s a shark tooth, give me a couple minutes and I can try and figure it out, but it won’t be definitive!
PrehistoricWonders
I think it’s either sand tiger, thresher or lemon shark tooth, but that’s the best I can do!!
