Thatowensboy
Hey guys, I’m Logan and I’m brand new here. I just got home from a dive in mingo creek down in South Carolina. It’s about An hour ride from the beach and it’s black water. I found 3 teeth that I would like to identify with y’alls help. Tooth #1 Tooth #2 Tooth #3 I’m thinking there bison but again I’m new to all of this. Also I’m sorry if the pictures aren’t perfect. Hopefully I’ll find more stuff to practice with on my next dives. Shellseeker
Welcome to TFF !!! If you live is SC, and get interested in fossils, this is a GREAT place to be. TFF has all its treads back since the beginning and you can search them. Very tough to differentiate Bison and cow, but I think you have Bison. "dive" in a black water creek? Most of my creeks in Florida are no more than 4 feet deep. Harry_
I am not anywhere near knowledgeable with the area as I am UK but first looks to me like a partial horse tooth
Harry Pristis
These all appear to be bovid, probably cow. Photo suggestion: Only three views of such teeth are useful for identification -- straight on left side, s.o. right side, and the s.o. occlusal view. Other views may be interesting, but they also may be misleading. 1 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest

Mingo creek is a branch off of the river. It got its name from the mingoe Native Americans that had Settled there. I think most parts are between 20 and 35 foot deep.
