Hey,

I was wondering what you guys thought of these crabs they’re listed on fb and I don’t really want them because they’re pricey but I want to warn people if they’re fake and to me they look carved! TIA!

Thanks I wasn’t really considering it, just didn’t want to ruin someone’s business but since they’re fake I’m gonna post in the comments!

if you are going to post it on THEIR site, you should be able to defend your position.

The carapaces are too smmoth.  Crab carapaces have very distinctive texture.  Look at the right claw on the bottom left crab, the "teeth" are ridges, not cones.  It is much easier to carve a two dimensional valley than to create a a series of conical "teeth".   There are no joints (that I can see) in the legs.

Thanks, I couldn’t find it to post that they were fakes.

This sounds like a private message would be the appropriate first step, as the seller may not know they are fake. It is best not to lead with an accusation. ;)

That being said, if they know the items are fake, I don’t think shaming/accusing them privately or publicly will result in much.
