It doesn't look typical for fossils from that area. ie. the preservation and 'look' is modern. And there are deer and other animals in and around the area (and on the islands). That is, if you are finding them on the 'beaches' of the river. The flame test might be next. An open flame on the least interesting part of the bone. If you smell a stench ... then it is most likely modern. I find at times deer bones phalanges/astragalus/hoof cores etc ...
