Godofgods
Hi everyone, do you think it is a fossil tooth or is it recent? Thanks
val horn
not horse, maybe bison. I tend to think it fossilized but you could test on the internal dentin with a hot needle to see if it smells like burning hair. If it is fossilized you will not hurt it. BellamyBlake
I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I agree with the above in that it doesn't look like horse. However, to me it seems fossilized.
jcbshark
looks bovid to me Every once in a great while it's not just a big rock down there!
Harry Pristis
It's definitely bovid, but I don't think it's a domestic cow. I say that because of the vertical striations in the enamel, which is a character of bison teeth with which I am familiar. I am not familiar with European bovids. 2 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest

Could be Bos primigenius or Bison schoetensacki?
