connorp
These two finds are stumping me a bit. Both are from the Maquoketa Fm (Upper Ordovician) of Iowa. The first one initially struck me as a 3D graptolite, but it could be a crinoid stem. I couldn't get a good photo of the cross section, but it is rectangular. connorp
The second find, well, I have no idea. Not sure if it's even a fossil. Thanks for any help.
MrBones
I think the first one contains a crinoid stem, they seem to be common in your area. The second fossil might be a coral of some sort, but I am unsure.
piranha
Looks like a possible sponge: Rigby, J.K., Bayer, T.N. 1971. Sponges of the Ordovician Maquoketa Formation in Minnesota and Iowa. Journal of Paleontology, 45(4):608-627
