Hello everyone,

I was just searching the internet to find out what animal's tooth I found the other day, when I came across this lovely forum full of expertise.

So I'd kindly like to ask if someone would help me identify the animal that was once the proud owner of this tooth.

Some info:

- Find place: southwestern Siciliy

- age: some 2500 years / late Holocene

- found in an archaeological context

 Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Steffen

Hi, looks like an incisor, possibly from a pig. If this tooth is 2500 years old it doesn't make the cut for a fossil by 7500 years. I myself have found some nice teeth that look really old, but unfortunately just are not old enough. All the best.

Thank you, Bradley, for comment. You're right, the tooth is quite a bit young for a fossil.
