Chuck W
I just finished prepping my first large Diplo and wanted some input and suggestions from the community. I did it with pin vices and magnifying headset. 12
snolly50
Very nicely done. Chuck W
Thecosimilla, I used 2 pin vices and a magnifying head set. It took me about 6 weeks.
Ptychodus04
Nice! Well done. The only suggestion I would have is to explore prepping the dorsal fin further. If it’s all there, you will have another 50% more length under the matrix. Chuck W
I didn't keep track of the hours. I kind of used it for lockdown therapy! But I do have a question about the fins. The top one goes off the edge of the plate. Should I work it out to the very edge or leave some matrix as a buffer for protection?

I would go all the way to the edge. You can stabilize it with a bit of Paraloid if it looks a little flaky.
