Lorney
Can you help identify this fossil. It has shell material on it that is iridescent pink and what looks like suture lines maybe on the surfaces. Found in an area where there is baculite and ammonite nearby. Found one other piece as well. Internally it doesn’t look like any other piece of ammonite I have found before.

Norki
Probably Placenticeras. Commonly found in the Bearpaw formation with nacre preserved. Where did you find this specifically?
Lorney
Thank you for the responses. I was thinking it must be part of an ammonite but it just didn’t look similar to anything else I have found. It was found along the Bow river in southern Alberta. There was only two small pieces. At least that’s all that was laying on the surface where I picked them up.
