OK. I spent Sat on the James River collecting. It wasnt a great tooth trip, only found one sand shark. But its NICE. LOL

I did, of course, find plenty of Chesapectens. Jeffersonius is my favorite, so I snagged a LOT of them. I also picked up a number of Madisonius. I think. Thats the first question. These ARE Madisonius, yes?

So then, as I was trying to figure out space to put these in the cabinet, I realized I had no real idea for sure the species on these. They are either from the Calvert or Yorktown or Drum Cliff. Like an idiot, I did not mark them. Well, I did mark the large one. And I have a guess on that one. Opinions?

Finally, just some of my favorites I got yesterday. I have a thing for the ones with barnacles and stuff on them. Bonus fossils IMO. LOL And some nice complete (both halves) ones.

I love the one with the coral growths! Bottom right, next to last photo. I can just imagine that shell sitting on the bottom of the paleo-ocean, having been transported by an octopus to an exposed location, growing bits of coral as it watched the sea life for a decade or two.
