sixgill pete
Dinosaur teeth from North Carolina are very rare to come by. There are only a small handful of sites where they have come from. One of the sites is well known, but the others are a closely guarded secret. Those of you who have been lucky to find such things, let's see your pictures. Not mosasaurs, not plesiosaurs but land dwelling dinosaurs. Here are mine. First a Tyrannosauroidea indet. There are two known Tyrannosaurids from N.C. Dryptosaurus and Appalachasaurus. The small size of this tooth will most likely keep it from being able to be ID'd to Genus level. It is 9.8 mm long, 6.4 mm wide and 3.5 mm thick. The next tooth is Hadrosauridae indet. It is 17.7 mm long, 8.7 mm wide and 6.7 mm thick. The third and final tooth has been determined to be an indeterminate Dromaeosaurid. It is 7.1 mm long, 2.8 mm wide and 1.6 mm thick. Runner64
Here is a tooth I recently received. It should say Tyrannosaur indet. I suppose. I need to get around to taking a serration density and update that info in my photo. Unfortunately I don't have a cool story to go with it like yours; I purchased it. Wish there were dinosaur fossils to find out here in the midwest! That raptor tooth you have is super cool @sixgill pete it reminds me of a Richardoestia type tooth.

Thanks for the help, the tooth appears to be slightly water worn so makes sense that it is a river find. Where are your teeth found? Would they be considered the Tar Heel Formation? That hadrosaur tooth is also super cool! Congrats on the awesome finds, keep at it! Who knows what else there is to be found at your locations

sixgill pete
The hadrosaur tooth was found in Wayne County NC. Most like Tar Heel Formation. The Tyrannosaurid was in Bladen County probably Bladen Formation. The Dramaeosaurid is also from Bladen County but a different site, now closed. Tar Heel formation I believe.
