OK, so I've never been to England, although my heritage is heavy on Irish, Scott, Welsh.  I have no idea, therefore, how easy it is to travel across England.  I live in Texas.  Some of my favorite "local" fossil sites are 5 hrs and 8 hrs drive away - and still in Texas.  So in my mind, anything anywhere in England would be "local" from whatever location in England.  Thus, having given you a.Texan's perspective on "local", and without knowing anything about England, I boldly offer you these few references I have on fossil hunting in England.

First, some references from TFF:

Then some internet sites dedicated to England Fossil Sites:

And last but certainly not least:

Hope this helps!  :thumbsu:

Wow @grandpa!  Thanks for that perspective of how lucky we are here in the Mid-Atlantic to have so many diverse fossil sites within a few hours drive.

I might also suggest that England may have some local geology/fossil clubs where collecting sites could be shared--maybe even on a club field trip.
