Vince, you have a lot of enthusiasm for fossils.  I'd suggest you consider joining the Paleo Society of Austin and joining them on their monthly fossil hunts.  I think you'd really enjoy that and learn a lot, plus add some good fossils to your collection.  Members of the club would be able to help you ID your finds and you'd develop a good eye for area fossils and where to find them.
