Joe Salande
I found this while rock hounding in the desert out of Del Rio, Texas. I've never looked for , nor ever found any petrified wood before, so I really have no point of reference. If you guys/ gals could help me, that would be greatly appreciated . Thanks, Joe
Thecosmilia Trichitoma
I’m with sedimentary layers, although other angles may change my mind. 1 It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt -Mark Twain

Brandy Cole
I think sediment also. Petrified wood can have that linear look to it, but one difference is that the sedimentary rock will feel kind of gritty to the touch, but petrified wood will often feel more slick or smooth.
