oyo
In early Eocene (Ilerdian, South Pyrenean basin) when there is no hard substrate on which to anchor, the small Rhizangia brauni (Michelin, 1847) look for it. Gastropods are not a bad place. On Turritella. On Tympanotonos. On a fragment of oyster shell. On other corals, Pattalophyllia. Or even on itself.

Early Eocene Ilerdian South Pyrenean Basin Btw, you are constantly surprising us with new twists of the coral world. Thank you, @oyo! FossilNerd
Wonderful! 30 minutes ago, FossilDAWG said: Can we get an idea of the age and geological context? I almost asked the same thing. Then I remembered those pesky and often overlooked tags. Looks to be Early Eocene (Ilerdian Stage) from the South Pyrenean Basin. EDIT: @FranzBernhard is faster at typing this morning. Don All the information was in tags from the beginning as FranzBerrnhard and FossilNerd saw very well. Anyway I have edited the post and included the requested information. Thank you all very much for your help and for your kind comments.
Sjfriend
Those are very interesting. Love their use of recycled materials lol. Not a collector of corals (though I have a few self collected ones) but one those I would grab. Especially one on a shell, that first one is awesome.
