Mattie
Hi everyone, I'm new to the group. I'm wondering if the enclosed pictures are of a fossil. Found it on my land a while ago but have now only realised that it could be a fossil. Thank you,
Tidgy's Dad
Syringoporid tabulate coral, I think. Very nice too. @TqBTarquin? 1 2 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.

You seem to have Lower Carboniferous age rocks on your land which is unsurprising considering your location. Have a good look at the rocks you may find. There could be a wide variety of fossils nearby................. Hello, Mattie, and a very warm welcome to TFF from Morocco. 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend. westcoast
I completely agree with above and would say this looks very similar to what is found in or around the Burren area of County Clare.

TqB
Not a syringoporid or a tabulate. It's a rugose coral with septa and horizontal tabulae - there are quite a few to chose from of various Palaeozoic periods. (Syringoporid tabulae are infundibuliform i.e funnel shaped.) 3 Tarquin

Thank you, Tarquin, i should have spotted the septa. So possibly one of the Lithostrotionidae? 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.

I've just realised it's from Ireland so definitely! Most likely Diphyphyllum, or possibly a diphyphylloid Siphonodendron (i.e. no columella running up through the centre of the tabulae). 1 Tarquin
