Greetings,

After using this forum as a source of information for the last few years I have finally decided to create an account and return the favor. In the future when time permits and my new member status has passed. I plan to upload pictures of already identified fossils to my personal gallery in an effort to help others in their quest for answers.

My main interests are vertebrate fossils, with a focus on amphibians, reptiles, fish, and early mammals. The Permian period is by far my favorite time period but I also love the Triassic. If I'm not out collecting and locating Permian fossil sites then I enjoy spending my time researching scientific papers and learning as much as I can about ancient wildlife. I'm not a gamer and I rarely watch tv or movies unless it's a documentary or lecture regarding something I'm interested in.

Thanks hadrosauridae, I look forward to seeing your future posts. I remember seeing your avatar/username image while reading posts for information in the past (your image is nicely distinctive).  It's nice to see a fellow Okie active on the forum.

Hi and welcome to the Forum from southeastern New York State. I visited Waurika three years ago and would love to return some day. I agree that reptiles, fish, and amphibians from the Permian and Triassic are fascinating. I've also collected some Triassic fish material in New Jersey.

Thanks Tidgy's Dad, Morocco is a place I'd love to visit some day. Lots of history and interesting things to find there.

Thanks FossilDude19, I'll definitely check out that portion of the forum and add some content. Might be a week or two before I really start posting. I'm in the process of moving this coming weekend and I'd like to work on getting some better quality photos.

Thank you Top Trilo, Colorado is a great state to live in for fossils. So far I haven't made any fossil trips but have fished through the state on fishing trips once or twice.

Thanks Jeffrey P, Waurika is a spectacular place to hunt, it's amazing how much material has come from there. I still haven't completely finished working my way through a 5 gallon bucket of that material. I've removed the excess dirt but am still sorting through the cleaned material. The tiny stuff is definitely time consuming to sort through.

The Triassic fish material from New Jersey sounds fascinating. The one time I've visited New Jersey, wasn't for fossil hunting unfortunately but was to pick up a 73 VW Squareback I bought off online. I'm never doing that again, I froze trying to drive that tin can with no heat back to Virginia in the middle of December (spent 6 years in the military on the east coast).

And thanks as well IsaacThe FossilMan. England is a great country for fossil hunting, especially for marine reptiles. I'm still trying to learn how to identify the fossils from the various species found there.

  • Thank You 1
