I can see why someone might call it that. There appears to be 4 different segments in the neck. Segment (a) looks like it was just carved out of rock. No details, just an uneven ridge. Segment (b) might have some bones, badly prepared. Note how it does not line up with segment (c)- like someone snapped the poor creature's neck. Segment (c) you can identify individual vertebrae and segment (d) looks like a lump of putty.

Cool, ill message the auctionhouse demanding a refund. I bought a lot labeled as a keichousaur, not a combination of bones, carving and putty. Thanks for the breakdown and info.

It's pretty messy, to be sure.

The neck, as stated has several issues.

Very poor prep. Missing the head. And some really poor restoration.

Yeah, money wasted. Hopefully the presence of putty and fake carving will get me a refund from the auctioneers.

Experience can be priceless.

I hope you can obtain a refund. These fossils are relatively common and I am sure you will be able to find a superior replacement to grace your collection. If you find a piece that you like, post images to this Forum before you buy. Members here are very happy to comment as to a piece's positive attributes or lack there of.

Also check out the Forum's "Is it Real?" topic. There you will find discussion on numerous Keich and will be able to see some nice ones among the less desirable.

I will do. Ive been looking for a while, but reliable, good specimins at a reasonable price seem rare. Thanks for the advice.

Hey @Keicollector, if by chance you do any prep on these Keichy's, let me know with a PM and I will set you up.  Good luck
