Mammal tooth found in Big Brook, NJ (rodent molar?) Is it a fossil or modern?

Just found what appears to be some kind of rodent molar in big brook, New Jersey. I know that there are both pleistocene and modern mammal fossils at this site, is there any way to tell if this is a fossil or a modern animal?

Thanks @Rockwood! Any idea on the age? Not sure how quickly teeth blacken like this. Any chance it's pleistocene, or just modern?

You should wait for a second opinion here to be sure. The brooks have a lot of iron containing minerals in them. That and the tannin from surface water darken bones, and to a similar degree teeth quite rapidly. Rabbits tend to reproduce rapidly too. In such a populated area I expect a few become sail rabbits, flattened so that they sail like a Frisbee. :)
