burt91
Hi, I don't think this is a fossil looks like some kind of tooth to me but could be wrong, searched the internet but couldn't find anything like it! Could anyone help identify what it is? I found it in Lyme Regis yesterday. Thanks!

abyssunder
Almost a bear, but no beer. Ursus one think, but looks like a Sus. I'm wondering if can't be deciduous. pachy-pleuro-whatnot-odon
Yup, pig molar. Some of Lyme's old trash dumps were located near the cliffs edge and were washed into the sea years ago when that particular cliff section collapsed. This is the reason there's so much trash to be found on the beach there amongst the fossils right now, including sub-recent bone. 1 'There's nothing like millions of years of really frustrating trial and error to give a species moral fibre and, in some cases, backbone' -- Terry Pratchett
