Vounassafossilhunter
Hello to all users! I found this little rock fragment (mudstone from the Tethys ocean floor I think) in a geosite at the Kozani-Grevena Geopark in greece .....I think that there is a fossil on it. Is it or not? And if yes what species is it? (Echinoderm maybe?) Thank you for your time!
Fossildude19
Welcome to the Forum. I don't see a fossil here - looks like a rock with a mineral vein, to me. Fossildude19
Those are a pseudo fossil, called dendrites. Usually manganese crystals. 4 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Tidgy's Dad
Dendrites aren't fossils, but are rather interesting and pretty. Well worth keeping a nice specimen like yours. 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
