RuMert
Some bigger animals. The area is close to a big nature reserve with typical moderate climate fauna. The most exciting was the encounter with a bear (I believe) in deep twilight on the shore:) Edited October 16, 2021 by RuMert 5 My sites & reports

pachy-pleuro-whatnot-odon
Stunning! I wish I could be out there...! Such a beautiful place. And though we have seen plenty of pictures of the river by now, the variety you're showing us here again makes clear there's still a lot to discover on the Volga...! Thanks for sharing these awe-inspiring moments with us! 20 minutes ago, RuMert said: Yet another plesiosaur vert from the same location, so after 3 trips 4 in total. Heavily pyritized Lots of plesiosaur bits this time Since the four vertebrae you found at the same location also seem to match in conservation and size, and you report there generally having been a lot of plesiosaur material, could it be that there's a skeleton eroding out of the cliffs there? 1 'There's nothing like millions of years of really frustrating trial and error to give a species moral fibre and, in some cases, backbone' -- Terry Pratchett

The verts were found opposite of a ravine between cliffs, not an actual cliff and they generally had a used look like they were submerged in water for a long time. Needless to say I examined all the place and didn't find anything else. I'll continue monitoring 2 My sites & reports
