Auction Find

Today I stopped by a local auction house, about 1 hour from home, that usually has Native American artifacts and fossils, today was no different.

I picked up this nice mounted display piece of 3 pyritized Jurassic ammonites from Russia. When I arrived at home, I showed it to my wife and she stated that it was the prettiest fossil that she has ever seen me buy- Lol.

Here are some pics of some of the other pieces that they had, some of these pieces went for prices that regular fossil collectors would never pay, it was insane. I am glad only one other person bid against me and I got it for $40.00.

There were bones that were supposed to be  Dino and could very well be, with restoration, but I could not tell.

Those Moroccan teeth are all composited junk.  Hopefully someone did not pay much for it.  Still trying to figure out that Dino leg from the SD.   Did it sell?   Its intriguing.

Again those Ammo's are a great pickup

Cool ammo's, the rest I wouldnt have been interested in.  Looked real close at the dino leg.  Something very fishy about that.

That leg looks like a model set in plaster. I feel like I remember seeing that exact "raptor leg" model in sciencey shops back in the late 90s.

It was and could very well be what you are talking about. The place that this auction takes place is always dark and it is hard to tell what is going on. There were other bones available, but I did not stay for those.
