New trip to the chalk of France

Last Saturday, Natalie and I went for a trip to the chalk cliffs in Northern France.

We got there early and we were surprised at the parking by a friend who happened to have the same idea as us .  @Euhoplites

So now we were 3 to hit the beach.

We were quite lucky with the weather, at least dry, and not to cold for this time of the year.

We did get a decent haul to, a few ammonites, a se urchin, a realy nice nautiloid. Natalie also found some pretty shark teeth.

The best find for me that day was a rare and very well preserved ammonite Hyphoplites falcatus.

Enjoy the pictures :)

Great finds! :default_clap2:Also, I've said it before, but: I really wish I could spend more time out searching like you guys! Just the look of those cliffs and the beach alone - that's my happy place right there...

I think I have said this before, but if I had such a beautiful place with such exquisite fossils nearby (and yes 3 hrs away is nearby) I would be there virtually every weekend.

Very good prep! Smart chisel hits or full dremel?

I used an airscribe for the prep.

Very cool finds and prep, in a beauty of a landscape.  Wow of a nautiloid.  Your first pic is an ART Picture ...too bad the horizon isn't level.

Not Hemiaster but Holaster

you are right :) , I't s getting harder to remember all those names while getting older, I tend to mix up the names of the fossils from time to time

THX :)

for the picture, the horizon is not level there, those are all chalky hills in the back. but then again, I still think my picture is indeed not level, I dont have the patience to take good pictures :p
