Eurypterid Plate - Main specimen (described below) with ostracods upper right of the specimen and a telson to the upper lefthand side (in the darkened portion of the rock, pictured)

I think this is worthy of consideration as January 2022 FOTM as the specimen exhibits a unique head shape compared to other Eurypterids of the formation, as well as Eurypterid material is extremely rare in Pennsylvania with specimens often being a disarticulated head or telson.

I would love to learn more about this specimen so please reach out if you have any clues as to exactly what I have here.

Date of Discovery: 01/22/2022

Common name: Sea Scorpion or Eurypterid

Scientific name: Eurypterus sp. (Hard to know exact species as specimen exhibits an unusually rounded head. Could be due to age, sexual dimorphism, or potentially a  non-described species)

Geological Age/Formation: Late Silurian

State, Province, or Region Found: Pennsylvania, United States of America
