PSchleis
Just a little fragment, but I’m curious. Found Myrtle Beach, 2022. Seems to have an enamel exterior. Thanks!
Rockwood
This is cortical bone. Edit: With a touch of cancellous bone for good measure. Edited January 29, 2022 by Rockwood 1

PSchleis
Myrtle Beach, 2022 I posted this under a different title and some believed it was bone. Now that I look at it longer I’m wondering if it’s a fragment of a mosasaur tooth. Any experts out there? I apologize for the double post but afraid the old post would get lost. The item is curved. The front has much more of an enamel sheen the typical bone I pick up. The striations at the top are reminding me of a mosasaur fragment I found on this beach a couple years ago. Thanks! Jeffrey P
I agree. That doesn't look anything like a mosasaur tooth. It would be good to know where it's from to know what kind of bone it could possibly be.

It's a bone frag and most likely cannot be ID'd beyond that. 1 Bulldozers and dirt Bulldozers and dirt behind the trailer, my desert Them red clay piles are heaven on earth I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt Patterson Hood; Drive-By Truckers May 2016 May 2012 Aug 2013, May 2016, Apr 2020 Oct 2022
Fossildude19
Topics merged. We only need one topic per fossil - best to keep them together. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." PSchleis
Thanks everyone! Being arched on one side and concave on the other side, it threw me. But after 20 years I still have much to learn! Leaving Myrtle Beach today. Thanks for putting up with my annual fossil hunting trip :-) See you next year!
