MadRey
I'm fairly new to collecting/hunting fossils. I bought these as Smilodon teeth last year, but I think they are Enchodus teeth. Can someone confirm? Thanks! From left to right: 5cm, 4cm, 2cm

Gareth_
These are pics of my Enchodus teeth The largest tooth you have, I see marks near the tip - self inflicted bite mark? Edited February 5, 2022 by Gareth_
Gareth_
@MadRey Just noticed that was your first post, welcome to TFF! I hope you're not too disheartened knowing the teeth aren't what you thought they were when you bought them..... it's very easy to be mislead (intentionally or not) by a seller, you've learned something and Enchodus fangs are a nice fossil to have in a collection!

Thank you so much! I was a bit disappointed when I found out, but anything prehistoric is exciting to own anyway haha. Your Enchodus teeth are gorgeous! Did you glue some of them back together? Mine are broken, but I haven't fixed them yet.

Make sure not to get any on your fingers or clothes though, that stuff stays around for forever.

Mine are broken, but I haven't fixed them yet. Some are complete, most are glued. I bought them that way. Unfortunately, most are broken on (I assume) removal from the matrix. My first pic, the tooth on the right is at near maximum size which I picked up too cheap, one of those awesome lucky finds!
