MHAN
Hello, experts, I need your help and advice. Do you think it is a real or fake fossil? The last one shows the original slab. Thanks! I appreciate!
glu
Of course it is, you have the prep pictures. Nicely prepared with formic/acetic acid at low concentrations

carch_23
Was just wondering is there a reason why the slab is not the typical gray colour? Or is it because this may be from a different location from where the gray slabs are found? Just not really familiar with these types of fossils lol. Btw nice fossil @@MHAN ! Anyways, thats something I would like to see. Quite nice prep. Not perfect, but compared with many other specimens - good prep. And real, of course! The seller told me this one is not found in Guizhou province (most of keichousaurus are from Guizhou). This little guy is found in Yunnan province (close to Guizhou). Cheers : )

Crazyhen
Yes, this one is from Yunnan Province, mostly likely from Fuyuan. Some of the matrix there are "coloured", not grey/black. The locals call such matrix "coloured plate" and because it's more colourful and uncommon, it is usually sold at a higher price than grey/black plates. The coloured plates are usually more brittle. See a pinkish coloured Keichousaurus from Fuyuan for comparison below.
