Pleistocene fossils are also found in Big Brook and other NJ brooks in the area.

It is hard to imagine one living to be that old in that neighborhood today.

It's one of the most densely populated areas in the country. It would need to be really road smart. None of that deer in the headlights stuff. :)

My guess is modern deer since there are so many in the Big Brook area. I'm often wrong, of course.

Still plenty of open area in NE NJ. Even some farms. Those population stats are because of all the cities in the Philly to NY corridor. To the south, the Vineland / Millville area is all farms and orchards. It's the Garden state.
