Waldron Weirdie #2

Tidgy's Dad

Recommended Posts

Another mystery from the Waldron Shale of the Illinois Basin in Indiana.

Any help or suggestions most gratefully received.

The object appears to be hollow and sort of tubular.

Scale is in mm. so it's pretty small..

Thank you. :)

Total guess with no evidence but it looks to me like it has a conical shape to it (wider at one end then the other)… could be a Gastropod?

Yes, I think it's wider on the left side than on the right of the photograph but it appears to me to be segmented rather than spiralled. Also, I'm not sure any of the gastropods from the Waldron Shale that I know would fit this shape.

But thanks very much for the suggestion and you may be proven right. :)
