Coastal Mystery Fossil

Oregon Coast Agates

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Looking to see if anyone recognizes what this might be?

Found in the Newport Area of the Central Oregon Coast under the bay bridge during low tide. It even has some unrelated barnacles growing on it!

I have absolutely no idea what to make of this. Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you.

I’m not sure what it belongs to but my first guess would be part of the rostrum of a long snouted odontocete.

@Al Dente has it - this is the base of a dolphin rostrum. Too partial to identify past Odontoceti.
